A business analyst has many roles within their company, in fact so many roles that many business analysis certified professionals do not know them all! Just some of the roles a business analyst must take on include; identifying and understanding the business problem and how the proposed solution can help the problem. They also have to document the solution being used including the objectives, added value along with the benefit expectations. The next role is to identify and assess the impact that the solution will have on the stake holders and review the impacted business processes. The business analyst also needs to make it clear to the stakeholders their needs which they require them to fill. With the stake holders they also need to come up with a list of requirements that are complete and understood by each of them. It is vital that stakeholders and business analysts work together as a team otherwise the project will fail to succeed.
The primary role of the business analyst is to work alongside the stakeholders. This is important in order for any project to be truly successful.
It is true that the role of the business analysis involves a great deal of hard work and commitment. However, this does pay off in the future.
