However, now that you know about us and PMP...the next question would be; how do I pass this exam?
Well worry no longer...here is a little help!
I can hear your screams for “help” as I am typing! Well calm down, take a deep breath and read on. Here are some tips;
To begin with it is important to make a plan. It doesn’t matter if you have to change this plan every 2 to 3 days, as it helps you understand where you are and what you are doing. A plan also allows you to see where you have got to with your studies.
Now my next piece of advice may seem a little predictable, but bear with me; read the PMBOK Guide! Get yourself a copy of the most recent edition, and read it 2 to 3 times to make sure it goes in. The best time to read it is before you go to bed; and hey we all love to dream about PMP! Every time you read the book you should highlight the parts you think are important and write them down on flash cards. Also, any points which seem incomprehensible to you make a note of and do some research! Also, when reading this book, you must pay special attention to the glossary as you will NOT succeed in the exam if you do not know the basic terms and definitions.
Next, test yourself on some past PMP examination questions. This will allow you to become acquainted with the types of questions you will be asked, and develop the self-discipline to take a 4 hour exam and learn time management. Once you have answered the questions mark the ones you are struggling with as they are the ones you need to spend more time focusing on, because let’s face it, the one you struggle with WILL come up!
It is important to remember to make the most out of your study time. Work somewhere quietly where you will not be disturbed in order to allow the maximum amount of information to soak in. You must feel confident about the exam, if you are worried sick about it you will not be able to revise or learn the relevant information. Just calm down - be cool!
Now, another thing you must do is time yourself. I know, 4 hours does seem like forever, but when you are under pressure, answering questions, the time flies by. So time how long you take on each question and ensure you do not run out of time. This tip will help a lot when taking your exam….Trust me!
So, don't worry about the exam, The Knowledge Academy are here to help!
