The New Six Sigma

It’s sad but true…the economic climate is not getting any better, so things do need to change. Due to this it is fair to say that new economic relationships do need to be established in order to encourage further development in the business world.  At this time it is important to maximise the efficiency of all business transactions in order for a company to flourish.

During times of economic struggle, it is not only families who are hit; it is also companies and businesses. Therefore, companies cannot afford to invest in a new methodology to help them succeed and reach new targets in order to open up new jobs and possibilities for other individuals. Well, it is pretty lucky Lean Six Sigma is around to help such companies conquer their dream.

Six Sigma has been around a good few years but has not been used by such a widespread amount of businesses. This is because it is a relatively modern idea and due to its new methodology, knowledge and training techniques many companies are a little afraid of changing their company into something quite so modern and ‘fresh’.

However due to the state of the economy at the moment Lean Six Sigma is not doing as well as it should be, therefore they have brought out a new six sigma 2. Six sigma 1 was failing to meet its success for many reasons;

To begin with there are contradictions within the software and technology of six sigma and its training. It also demonstrates a functional depreciation of the developments which were made before computers became so popular. A lot of the tools which were produced a long time ago, before technology took over are still important and are vital to many projects which are in play at the moment.

Six Sigma does also have a lack of flexibility which is due to the fact it is so strict in its methodology. This can be frustrating for many companies and the projects they are attempting to undertake. Not only this but it is also old fashioned in the context of its statistical formulas. It is using Greek alphabet and descriptions rather than using new statistical language which would be in line with other programming languages.

Further to this, lean six sigma also do all calculations and statistical analysis manually. There are award winning software packages available across the globe which they could adopt. Thus they need to start using software to help them get to where they want to be as this would save money and time.

Because of these ‘faults’ with the current six sigma1, there will now be a new and improved version available which will address these ideas and concepts in order to create something which could go viral. This is a very exciting prospect for six sigma professionals.

Therefore my advice to any individual who wants to improve themselves is to learn the six sigma training course and get certified because this is going to be the next big thing which could take the world of business over.
