Vienna is the capital city of Austria and the largest of the nine states. Vienna has a population of around 1.8 million and has the second largest number of German speakers just after Berlin. Vienna is the host of many international organisations such as the United Nations. There are an approximate 3.7 million tourists visiting Vienna every year.
Being Austria’s capital, Vienna is home to many universities, professional colleges, and high schools. The University of Vienna is the oldest university in the German-speaking world and is one of the most renowned particularly in Humanities. 15 Nobel Prize winners have come from the University of Vienna and have approximately 88,000 students. Vienna is also home to a variety of international schools such as Lycée Français de Vienne and Japanische Schule in Wien.
