You’ll undertake eight core exams:

Core Modules:

  • Scope and Influence of Procurement and Supply - 3 Hours (4 CR Questions)
  • Defining Business Need - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)
  • Commercial Contracting - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)
  • Commercial Negotiation - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)
  • Ethical and Responsible Sourcing - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)
  • Supplier Relationships - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)
  • Whole-Life Asset Management - 1.5 Hours (60 OR Questions)

Exam Details:

  • Frequency: Exams are held in March, May, July, September, and November.
  • Exam Type:
    • Objective Response (OR):Select a response from a list of possible answers.
    • Constructed Response (CR):Provide written answers to demonstrate understanding and application of the subject matter.

Assessment Criteria:

  • Pass Mark for Constructed Response (CR) Modules:
    • Minimum of 50% to pass.
    • Grading Scale:
      • Distinction: 75 - 100%
      • Merit: 60 - 74%
      • Pass: 50 - 59%
      • Fail: 0 - 49%
  • Pass Mark for Objective Response (OR) Modules: A minimum of 70% is required to pass.

Exam Process:

  • Arrangements: The Knowledge Academy will arrange your exams, which can be taken either at your nearest CIPS exam centre or remotely from home.
  • Fees: A CIPS fee applies to each exam, with a small additional fee for remote exams.
  • Technical Requirements: Ensure you meet the technical requirements for remote exams to avoid any issues.

Credits:

  • The qualification is worth 60 credits in total. You must pass all eight core exams to achieve the diploma.

Results:

  • Release: Results are usually released within 2-3 weeks after the exam date.

However there is no formal ranking system and students will often choose colleges and universities bases on geographic convenience and the reputation of a particular course. Ottawa has the highest per capita concentration of engineers, scientists, and residents with PhDs in Canada. The University of Ottawa was founded in 1848 and was the first higher education institute to be established in the city.  The university is a bilingual public university. The University of Ottawa is ranked in the top 300 universities in the world, coming in at number 284 and is a top 15 university in Canada.  The university has faculties in the following areas: arts, civil law, common law, education, engineering, post graduate studies, health sciences, medicine, science, social sciences and the school of management.
