Leicester is a city located in the East Midlands of England; it is a county town within Leicestershire; it is estimated to have over 330,000 people livening and working in the city. The education in Leicester follows the British educational system and is divided into three levels: Primary School, Secondary Schools and Higher Education and is compulsory for children up to the age of 16. Leicester Grammar School was founded in 1980 after loss of the city’s state-funded grammar schools. The University of Leicester which was established in 1957 and is now ranked 12th in Britain's leading universities; it has over 2,400 students attending and over 2,000 academic staff. It is also home to De Montfort University which opened in 1969. The university now contains over 21,000 students and is ranked one of the top 10 business schools in the UK.
