Kingston upon Hull is a city based in Yorkshire, England. It is nicknamed Hull and has a population of around 257,000 people. The city was established in the late 12th century and is famous for having telephone boxes which are cream instead of the traditional red. There are over 100 schools in Hull, most of which are supported by Hull City Council. The best state-funded school in the area is Malet Lambert School. The University of Hull resides in the city and was founded in 1927. It enrols around 20,000 students a year and has another campus located in Scarborough.
