Middlesbrough is a large industrial town located on the River Tees bank in North Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Middlesbrough Borough Council and is has an estimated population of about 138,400 residents. Schools in Middlesbrough also follow the British educational system and is divided into three levels: Primary School, Secondary Schools and Higher Education. The education in Manchester is compulsory for children up until they are 16 years old. Middlesbrough offers a wide range of Primary Schools as well as Secondary Schools, Colleges and Sixth forms colleges. Middlesbrough is home to the largest college is Middlesbrough College with over 16,000 student’s attending; it was founded in 1930s as Constantine Technical College. In 1992, Middlesbrough became a university town by opening Teesside University, which had been running since the 1930 as Constantine Technical College. The university specialises in computer animation and games design and now has over 20,000 students attending. Teesside University also co-hosts the annual Animex International Festival of Animation.
