The most common carreras are usually perrito mercantil (accounting) and negocios (business). Some of the schools in the area of San Pedro Sula include; Ovidio Decroly Christian School and Saint Michaels School.  

The university is ruled by National Autonomous University of Honduras is the public university in Honduras, it has campuses in the most important cities in Honduras including San Pedro Sula. It is one of the largest universities in Central America in terms of enrolment. The campus in San Pedro Sula is the UNAH-VS (UNAH Valle de Sula).
