Additionally, an individual can be made to feel a certain way just based on what someone may say to them. This reaction is typically based on the distorted assumptions made by the individuals about themselves.
Now, it is important for one element to Cause another, for a Cause-and-Effect event to occur. Certain keywords to pay attention to are ‘if’, ‘then’, ‘when’, and so on. Moreover, it is not a necessity for a Cause-and-Effect statement to be deemed true because it is implied to be so. The keyword ‘because’ is also known to bring about the Cause and its consequent Effect.
In a different perspective, individuals have a tendency to interpret their world in terms of a Cause-and-Effect equation. For example, if an action carried out by an individual results in an Effect, the individual immediately judges their action to have resulted in that Effect.
This outlook is reinforced in situations where one event is consistently followed by another. The initial judgement turns into a belief that the two events are related by Causation. Over the course of time, if the initial conditions are known, an individual can predict the exact Effect.

What constitutes Effects in NLP?
The knowledge and memory of the Effects based on the initial conditions is known as ‘determinism’, which is the outlook that any event’s occurrence is completely determined by previous Causes. It emphasises on specific events rather than the future as a concept.
However, this concept does not apply effectively to human beings, as it would change the meaning behind countless aspects of their lives. Their upbringing, genetics and situations would be completely predetermined by their situations. Now, if an individual places themselves at the ‘Cause’ end of the equation, they will perceive themselves as the accountable entity in the situation. The above example describes the contrasting outlook of individuals placing themselves at the ‘Effect’ end and playing the blame game on the world around them.
