The city of Eindhoven is located in the south of the Netherlands in the province of North Brabant. Eindhoven city has an approximate population of 221,000 residents, making it the largest city of North Brabant and the fifth largest of the Netherlands. The unemployment rate for Eindhoven currently stands at just over 4%. This is drastically lower in comparison to the national average unemployment rate which currently stands at 7%. In the Netherlands, students learn to speak English from a very early age and is the first foreign language spoken; this means that between 90% and 93% of the Dutch speak English. Eindhoven is home to the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Fontys University of Applied Sciences. The Eindhoven University of Technology was ranked 61st for Engineering & IT by QS World University Rankings it was also ranked the highest Technical University in Europe. Fontys University of Applied Sciences offers over 200 bachelor and master programs in a range of different fields including social work, health care and teacher training.
