Los Angeles is the second most popular city in the United States after New York City with a population of just over 4 million. Los Angeles is famous for the entertainment industry with one of its most famous landmarks being the Hollywood Walk of Fame which stretches along the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard (for 15 blocks) as well as a further 3 blocks of Vine Street.
Los Angeles is surrounded in a ‘large coastal basin’ as on three sides of the city there are mountains which measure over 10,000 feet high. Los Angeles is renowned for its diverse economy which includes: culture, science, fashion, media, technology, sports, education, medicine and research.
The Universities situated in Los Angeles specialise in one of the entertainment sectors such as the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Other universities include the University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount University and many more. Los Angeles also has very well-known tourist spots such as; the Hollywood sign, the Staples Center, Venice Beach and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
